DocumentedYears in marketing and sales
49 years making a living in marketing and sales, from age 15; 25 years since joining Y2Marketing in 2001.
Source: Principal's records (contracts and invoices on file, available on request).
Every material claim is numbered and listed with the source behind it. Where a source is a document, the document is named. Where it is a recollection, it says so. Where an entry was superseded or withdrawn, both states are shown, because the correction is part of the record. Entries naming private individuals are held in the book’s full appendix.
Credibility is earned in order:
Truth first. Proof second. Automation third. Pressure never.
These figures are not yet in Appendix A of EARNED. Each fact shows its source type: Documented, Testimony, or Public record.

VerifiedIn an October 2000 Financial Times interview, Jürgen Schrempp said the deal was labelled a "merger of equals" for psychological reasons and that he had always intended Chrysler to be a division.
Source: The New York Times, "Daimler Leader Explains Why He Called Deal 'Merger of Equals'", 11 December 2003, quoting the Financial Times interview.
In the resulting Kerkorian lawsuit, a US federal court ruled for DaimlerChrysler in April 2005, finding the "merger of equals" label was not significant to the claimant. A separate $300 million shareholder settlement (August 2003) carried no admission of wrongdoing.

VerifiedBy November 2000, DaimlerChrysler shares had lost more than half their value since January 1999. The Times described one of the biggest losses of shareholder value in history and reported that Schrempp saw the problem as largely one of public relations, of "story" and "message".

VerifiedY2Marketing, based in Irving, Texas, rose from number 42 to number 28 on the 2003 Inc. list of America's fastest-growing private companies, the highest-ranked company from Texas. The report cited revenue growth of 4,009% since 1998 and 2002 revenue of $18.7 million, according to Inc., with about 1,000 licensed agents.
Source: Inclusion: Inc., Inc. 500 issue, Fall 2003, "Inc. 500 Geographic Guide: A look at the nation's entrepreneurial hot spots", compiled by Rod Kurtz, pp. 161 to 164, which lists "Y2 Marketing, DeSoto" among the 36 Texas companies on the 2003 Inc. 500 (p. 164). Rank and figures: Crystal Glasgow, staff writer, "'Anti-agency' rockets to No. 28 on Inc. list", 27 October 2003, contemporaneous press report held as a company file copy (Word document saved 17 December 2003); the copy does not name the publication. Archive copies held.
Inclusion in the 2003 Inc. 500 is verified against the magazine itself. The Geographic Guide lists companies by state without ranks, so the number 28 placement, the Texas ranking and the 4,009% growth figure rest on the contemporaneous press report; the ranked 2003 listing page is not held. The report independently confirms the 2002 placement (P7), the 2002 revenue and the agent count (P8).
